Harry is about to enter his second year at Hogwarts but he feels very lonely considering the fact that Ron and Hermione have not wrote to him at all. His owl Headwig, starts growing restless to the fact that she is not aloud out of her cage. There's nothing Harry can do since his uncle just gave him Dudley's second room, mostly out of fear of Hagrid coming back, and Harry really does not want to make him even more angrier. So harry does what his uncle said about headwig and even about pretending he does not exists since his uncle is having people from work over. All seems to go well until Dobby ( a house elve) arrives on harry's bed. Dobby tries to warn harry not to go back to school by taking all harry's letters from ron and hermione and keeping them to make harry feel he does not want to go back. harry tells dobby he is going back so dobby sneaks down stairs and drops a cake on harry's uncle's dinner guest. Dobby vanishes framing harry. which works because his uncle locks him in his room and puts bars on his window, but one night ron rescues harry with his father's flying car and takes harry to his house. We then meet Ron's father Aurthur, his mother Molly and sister Ginny who will be going to her first year. When the term at Hogwarts finally came Harry and Ron together tried to get onto the platform by speeding to the wall, well this time they actually did hit the wall and their belongings flew everywhere. Since they could not get on, they decided to drive the flying car to hogwarts instead. Well when they did get to hogwarts they landed in the womping willow tree that almost tried to kill them. Not only that but once the got out of the car, the car itself drove away into the Forbidden Forests. If that weren't enough, they were seen by muggles and therefore thought they were going to be expelled. Thank God they didn't get expelled just a detention. But more trouble aroused when slytherin quidditch team added malfoy to the quidditch team as seeker, then their new teacher for defense against the dark arts (Gilderly Lockheart) is way to obssesed with himself having made them all get his collected works. The big thing is that people keep getting petrified and writing on the walls saying the chamber of secrets has been opened in blood. Professor McGonall who teaches tranfiguration, told the students that when the school was first made, salazar slytherin had different ideas about the school. Only pure bloods can come not mudbloods or halfbloods. so he built a chamber so that when his true heir returned to school they alone can open the chamber and release a horrible monster inside it. well the students started to believe harry is the heir of slytherin since he is always there when students get petrified and that he can talk parsltounge(snake language). Harry, Hermione and Ron make polyjuice potion so they can change into crabbe and goyle which are malfoy's followers and see if malfoy is the heir of slytherin. when they do make it they find out its not malfoy at all. so who could it be? a little while later harry finds out is open before and someone died. they think they know who it is. so they went to the gir's bathroom which is haunted by moaning myrtle who told ron and harry she died in the bathroom and all she saw were eyes. then hermione gets petrified and turns to stone but relizes that she left clues, in one of her hands was a mirror in the other a piece of paper that explained the monster is a snake and is using pipes to get around. also people have not died becuase they did not look directly at the snake. on top of that harry comes across a diary where he was able to go back 50 years ago to hogwarts and see when the chamber was opened through a boy named Tom Riddle. Well later ahead ron's sister ginny gets taken into the chamber of secrets so ron and harry go to professor lockheart to see if they can be of any assitance. well he was acutally planning to leave so harry and force him to go with them into the chamber. when they do get in there they realize lockheart is a fake. so lockheart takes ron's wand and threatens to take away their memories. but the spell rebounds on lockheart since ron's wand in broken. so harry goes into the chamber and sees ginny lying still and then tom riddles comes out and tells harry he is lord voldemort but a memory. so tom calls upon the snake but dumbledore is able to send the sorting hat and his pheonx faux to harry. harry pulls the gryffyndor sword out of the hat and defeats the snake and tom by stabbing his diary. once out of the chamber and in dumbeldore's office malfoy's father lucious malfoy comes up with his house elve dobby! harry is then able to set dobby free so he wouldn't have to serve malfoy. at the end of it hermione gets unpetrified and everyone goes back to normal.
