In harry's fourth year the triward tournanment comes to hogwarts. Along with the tasks come two new schools who have come to hogwarts to take part in the triwizard tournament. One school is Beauxbatons and the other is Dumstrang for school for boys. Even though there is a tournament, there are still classes. So hogwarts has a knew defense against the dark arts tacher professor alaster moody the auror(dark wizard catcher). Wants harry and his class mates go to his class he teaches them illegal spells only death eaters would attempt on people. after classes start to come to an end the tournanment starts by picking three students one from each school. the hogwarts champion is cedric diggory, beauxbatons is fleur delacor, and dumstrang is viktor krum. and as people thought that would be the end of that, the goblet of fire picked another name for hogwarts which was harry potter's name. know way out of it, he would have to compete. ron ends up turning on him when he thinks harry actually did put his name in when it really wasn't true. people just started behaving differently. when the first task comes, moody helps prepare harry for the dragons since hagrid told him. so he ended up getting first place in the competion. then all of a sudden people in gryffyndor decided to be nice to harry and ron decided to make peace. For christmas people decided to stay at hogwarts since they were going to throw a yule dance. harry having had a crush on cho chang in ravenclaw house decided to ask her. only thing was that she was going with cedric. at the last minute harry and ron decided to go ask the patil twins and was successful since they said yes. now ron was convinced that hermione did not have a date but really she did and was surprised to see her with viktor krum. from then on ron realized he does have a crush on her but still won't admit it. the next task came up after christmas where they would be underwater for at least an hour. thanks again to moody giving neville longbottom that book, harry would not have known about gillyweed and was successful in getting second place. the last challenge was the maze where the cup was located. harry for the most part had a clear path until he ran into cedric and it was a race between them. but together they took the cup and was transported to a graveyard. not just any grave yard but the grave yard where voldemort's father was buried. a couple of minutes went by when wormtail came out holding some kind of cloth with something in it. he saw cedric and killed him and then attached harry to voldemort's father's grave. wormtail created some kind of potion which changed into voldemort. then voldemort called upon his followers(death eaters). one of them was maloy's dad lucious. by then voldemort started to duel with harry and since they have the same wands there's a connection. within that connection harry's parents came out and so did cedric. with harry was able to get away from voldemort and grab cedric's body and the cup. he was then transported back to hogwarts and everyone saw. moody then grabbed harry and took him in his class room. he told harry how he put his name in the goblet and made him the champion in every tasks. then dumbledore and other teachers came in and poured a potion in his mouth to make him tell the truth. truth is that he was not moody but a death eater. he was barty crouch's son, but killed his father who was minister of magic making corneilous fudge minister. at the end the two school 's left hogwarts and harry with his triwizard winnings gave them to fred and george to start their joke shop
