Harry Potter and the sorcerer's stone is the first adventure in these series of books. Harry, eleven years old, lives with his aunt Petunia Dursley, uncle Vernon Dursley and cousin Dudley Dursley on Privet Drive. Harry has lived there since he was a baby and when he does have the courage to ask his aunt and uncle about his parents, all they say is that they perished in a car accident. Harry being the special child that he is does not know of his past. He thinks he is a muggle going to public schools where his cousin loves to beat him up and living in a broom closet. But on the morning of Dudley's birthday Harry recieves a letter from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Once his aunt and uncle see the letter in Harry's hand, they try there best to make sure harry does not open any other letters from that school. Since many letters keep arriving, Vernon decides to go away to avoid any more letters. Well this time instead of letters, a game keeper named Hagrid arrives with the letter for Harry to read. Once Harry reads the letter he relizes that he is a wizard and his aunt and uncle have been lying to him. Harry decides he wants to see where this will take him and so he enters the world of witches and wizards when he's really entering his destiny. While in Diagon Alley,(which is just a place where wizards and witches can shop) Harry notices people keep pointing and coming up to him wanting to shake his hand. Even when he goes to mr. ollivander the wand maker and picks out his wand which so happens that the only other wand that is the same as his gave harry that scar.So Harry asks Hagrid why is he so famous. Well the reason why Harry is so famous is because when Harry was just a baby, a dark wizard called Voldemort, killed his father then went after his mother who sacrificed herself for Harry. He tried to kill Harry but was unsuccessful because Harry has the mark of love so Voldemort could not bare to touch him. So that night Voldemort vanished, too weak. Now that Harry knows he gets ready to board the Hogwarts express even though he has no idea where it could be. That's when he befriends Ron Weasley who's mother shows him how to get on platform 9 3/4. Once Harry arrives at Hogwarts, things take off from there. He gets sorted into Gryffyndor House, just like his parents, and his friend Ron does to along with his twin brothers Fred and George who are in their third year and his brother Percy who is in his fifth year. Along with that Harry feels that a certain teacher does not like him, which is true once he gets to that teacher's class. The teacher is Professor Snape and he teaches potions, every time harry is in his class he always gets critized by Snape. The one good thing though is that harry makes it on the Gryffyndor quidditch team where he plays as seeker which his father did too. Once October reaches he and Ron end up battling a troll in order to save Hermoine, and all three of them become the three musketeers! As Christmas hit and people started to head home for the holidays, Harry was pleased that Ron and his brothers were staying at Hogwarts too. When Christmas day did arrive Harry was more than shock to see he had presents! One of his presents though did not have a signiture to tell who sent it. Only a letter that said your father left this in my possesion before he died, use it well. When he opened the gift inside was an invisibility cloak, which is really rare. Later in December Harry comes across the mirror of Erised. When Harry looks through the mirror he sees his whole family smiling at him but when he went a second time Dumbledore was there and told Harry it would be moved to a new place and don't go looking for it. Though it still troubles Harry why was the troll let in? Well their suspisions take them to that Snape let it in to get past a three headed dog thats guarding something. Around June Harry, Hermione and Ron go to where the three headed dog is only to find out that someone got past it already since the dog was already alseep. The three of them go in the trap door and face many obstacles to get from one room to another. Harry decides to go through the last door alone to not find Snape but the stuttering Professor Quirrel who teaches Defense Against the Dark Arts class and wears a turban on his head. Come to find out the reason he wears a turban is to make sure no one sees he has another head sticking out of the back of his. This is not an ordinary head but the head of Lord Voldemort trying to get the sorcerer's stone that belongs to Nicolas Flamel that will keep people alive for a long time. He trys to get it using the mirror of Erised. When he tells harry to look in the mirror it appears inside of his pocket! Voldemort trys to attack harry but is unsuccessful again becuase of harry's touch of love. So Professor Quirrel dies and Vodemort's spirit vanishes away. When Harry wakes up he relizes he out of the chamber and in the hospital wing. Where Dumbledore tells him why Qurrel or Voldemort could not bare to touch of him because of love. At the end of the term feast harry, hermione and ron receive house points for bravery and courage and end up winning the house cup for Gryffyndor!
